Rhonda Ridley
Born/Raised in Jersey City, NJ and currently resides in Riverdale, NY
About Rhonda:
Rhonda owns Affinity Public Relations, a Christian Urban PR Marketing and Branding Firm.
As a little girl, she wanted to be a fashion designer. Instead, she was an elementary school teacher in Jersey City. During that time she met actress Erika Alexander’s attorney who was adamant in telling Rhonda that she was born to be a publicist, and he offered her a job. She worked with Erika until she left NYC to do Living Single.
The personal defining moment in Rhonda’s life occurred when she had an accident in school.
She fell down a flight of stairs and consequently broke her ankle, wrist and severed the tendons in her lower back. Soon after, she was diagnosed as being paralyzed, as she had total numbness in her legs and back. She was told she may never walk again. Surgery was out, so all she had left was prayer. Rhonda prayed all the time. A year and a half after her diagnosis, God spoke to her as he did the man in the Bible (John 5:8) and commanded her to get up and walk. She admits to being scared out of her mind, but listened and did what God had asked. She’s been walking ever since.
Rhonda represents many clients- past and present- including Kim Fields, Kenny Lattimore, Roland Martin, Gospel Music Channel, The National Urban League and more.
“I’m Fierce because I love Jesus and am not afraid to say so. I’m Feminine because I am wonderfully submitted to my husband and he doesn’t take that for granted. And I’m Fly because I truly love people! I remember asking God to give me a heart for people and He did!” – Rhonda Ridley

If I could take only three things in my purse, they would be: My iPad, my body oil and phone
One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced and conquered is: Becoming a writer. I never went to school for writing, but I immersed myself in writing by going to the library, studying on the Internet and reading PR materials.
I feel most beautiful when: I don’t have on makeup, when I’m with my hubby and when I smell good.
I am in pursuit of: God’s character, peace, love, forgiveness and mercy.
The number one quality I desire in a man: A man that loves the Lord; since this is where loves derives from, if he loves God then he will certainly know how to love me.
The actress who would best portray me in a movie: Taraji P. Henson
I walk in confidence wearing 5-inch heels.
Don’t judge me just because: I LOVE junk food. A lot!!!!!!
A beauty secret I’ve learned from one of my celebrity clients: I don’t think I’ve learned anything that’s really a secret, but we have discussed how we don’t let makeup and certain body images define us. We truly are happy/satisfied just as we are. ( Note: This we believe has so much to do with where we are in life, i.e. career, relationships, faith, our age and all that we’ve gone through. I am not flippant to others’ struggles).
What keeps me motivated: The amazing promises of God! Also, knowing one day that women will become far more supportive, truthful and loving to one another. I don’t believe we are now nor have we been for a very long time.
